Nikon In addition to the standard film camera we used digital camera Nikon CoolPix 995 having CCD chip with
3.34 megapixels. The focal
length of the basic object-lens (counted for 35 mm film) varies from 38 to 152 mm. We used additional CompactFlash 128 MB memory and teleconvertor TC-E3
ED with low-dispersion glass. The focal length calculated for 35 mm film is 456 mm. The camera was excellent for routine photos, many of them you can see in the Gallery. We used the camera with teleconvertor mounted on the tripod during the total eclipse phase. The obtained photos are perfect till a sharp border after which the color is only white ("white
zone") because the chip is saturated. For every exposure time some ring in corona
could be used for further elaboration by the radial mask method. The result can
be seen bellow.
