About

  • Route of the expedition: Prague - London - Johannesburg - Harare - Lusaka - Livingstone - Victoria Falls - Bulawayo - Masvingo - Beitbridge - Mesina - Neilspruit - Johannesburg - London - Prague.

  • Duration: 15.6.-1.7.2001.

  • Expeditioners: Petr Kulhánek, David Břeň, Martin Žáček, Pavel Břichnáč.

  • The whole path: 25 000 km.

  • Path through the Africa continent: 4300 km.

  • Visited countries: Republic of South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe.


Experiments

  • Measuring of the temperature and lighting with a modulus prepared before the journey.

  • Taking photographs with the digital camera Nikon Coolpix 995 (object-lens TC -E3 ED).

  • Taking photographs with the MTO 1000 object-lens (lended by the Rokycany Observatory).

  • Recording the eclipse with camcorder Sony CCD PRV59E Hi 8.

  • All-sky shooting of the partial eclipse phase with the camcorder.

  • Elaborating the material by radial mask method.
